South Africa riots

These riots that have been plaguing South Africa the last few weeks are comparable to the violence in Kenya earlier this year. The riots and attacks have been focused on illegal immigrants who are mostly from Zimbabwe. It seems that Africa keeps having problems like this and it remains to be seen if the International community will do anything about it.

Long overdue current event

So Nepal has voted to abolish the monarchy. Good for them since it seems that most of them didnt want it anyway. The maoists were elected a few months ago, which is kind of odd since Communism is not longer nearly as popular as it was. But it remains to be seen if something good comes out of this. I sure hope something does.

Mahdi Army will continue ceasefire

Moqtada Al-Sadr has extended the six month ceasefire that his militia has been observing. This has greatly helped curb the violence in Iraq and another six months of relative peace would be great for all those involved in Iraq. I dont see how the Sunnis and Shiites will get along after U.S. troops leave, especially since the Americans have been arming Sunni militias. I just hope the Kurds will get through this whole thing ok. In fact, the only thing the Kurds really have to worry about now are the Turks. The Kurds now have an effective military( The Peshmerga) and I think they could defend themselves from a Turkish invasion pretty easily. Anyway, hopefully the Mahdi amry will help re-build Iraq into the once prosperous country that it was.

Independent Kosovo

Kosovo officially declared thier independence on February 17th. Many western nations were quick to recognize the world's newest state, despite Serbia and Russia's opposition. Other nations have yet to recognize Kosovo becuase they fear that this will fuel ethnic nationalism within thier own borders. I can just imagine that oppressed minorities in those obscure countries will start some kind of international revolution. The thought of the Chechens, Ossetians, Abkhaz, Kurds, Basques, Crimean Tatars, Palestinians, Tibetans, Ughyurs, Kabyles, and Tamils actually gaining thier independence is pretty amazing especially with all of the crap they have been through. Anyway I hope that Kosovo 's Independence will bring much needed closure to the whole Yugoslavia debacle.

Serbs vote for new head of state

Those Serbs sons of bitches are voting for a new head of state. Hopefully they don't elect a Milosevic type, because the world could really do without one. I like to put Serbs in the same category as the Turks, who are just uncultured as the Serbs are. In fact if you could combine the two they would be the perfect War-starting, oppression-loving, genocide-doing, pretentious, nationalistic, and just all around narcissistic race/ethnic group the world has ever seen. Not only that but the levels of SMUG emanating from these two countries(Turkey and Serbia) is enough to make the whole of Europe asphyxiate on there own vomit. Anyway, as far as Serbian politics go, I hope they just let the whole Kosovo thing blow over because the Albanians really deserve it.

P.S. Sorry If I offended any Serbs or Turks. I'm sure you have a grand ol' culture and it's too bad blatantly racist people like me are allowed to post blogs. God Bless Free Speech!

Hezbollah claims to have Israeli body parts

The leader of Hezbollah Shiekh Hassan Nasrallah claims that Hezbollah has remains of Israeli soldiers who died in last summer's Israel-Hezbollah conflict. Nasrallah came out of hiding today and walked through shiite neighborhoods of Beirut surrounded by thousands of his supporters. An estimated one million Lebanese turned out for the event. If a million people came out to see me than I would be pretty stoked, especially when I was able to get them all excited becuase I claimed to have Israeli body parts in my possession. Nothing against the Lebanese people but are body parts really worth all the fuss? The Isreali government has swapped LIVE Hezbollah guerrillas for the bodies of Israeli soldiers in the past. Thats a huge waste of time for the Israelis who seem to believe that dead Israelis are really worth it. ITS A FUCKING DEAD BODY, GET OVER IT!!!!! Well anyway hooray for Hassan who is speaking to the public again.

Sexy French bachelor/president looks towards the gulf

French President Nicolas Sarkozy has signed a deal with The United Arab Emirates allowing 500 military personnel to set up military bases within the country. It looks like the French are trying to follow in the same footsteps as the Americans which may be a bad move becuase the U.S. is extremly unpopular in this part of the world. This probably wont be the first country to accept French troops within thier borders and it looks like the gulf could have a sizeable French presence in the future. You would think the French would have had enough of the Arab countries, especially after they colonized Lebanon and Syria back in the early 20th century. Not to mention French North Africa, which the French lost after heavy Moroccan, Algierian, and Tunisian resistance pushed them out of the region. Ever heard of the Battle of Algiers? Well imagine that hapening again in 50 years, except this time its called the Battle of Dubai or whatever Gulf Country has a French military presence. Anyway it's possible that Al-Qeada will began to target French forces from now on. Sarkozy should know that Al-Qeada does now want foriegners stationed in the region, and stationing soldiers around there is just a bad idea. Hell, its possible that in 50 years time the persian Gulf will no longer be called the Persian gulf, but the Franco-American gulf or something like that. It appears that the West is once again, setting themselves up for another shitty mess.
